In Person Arrival and Dismissal

Hello Otay Parents! For those attending school in person, here are more detailed arrival and dismisssal procedures for you.

Health Screenings
The first day of school, we will be taking temperatures for ALL students. On Monday, your child will bring home the Health Screening Card below. Starting Tuesday, please show this card to the staff at drop off, which gives us a Thumbs Up that your child is symptom free, has not been in close contact with a covid-positive person, and that you allow us to take your child’s temperature if needed.

SCHOOL ARRIVAL /DROP OFF

See map below for School Arrival instructions. Arrive no earlier than 8:00am for AM cohort and 11:45 for PM cohort. Use the car line only, do not park and walk child in. Please pull as far forward as possible in the car line. After completing the Health Screening, students will exit and go to their gate. Gates will open at 8:00 am and 11:45 am. Siblings can enter through the youngest student’s gate, to walk the younger sibling to their class. All students go DIRECTLY to their classrooms. There will not be supervision on the blacktop. The gate near the Otay Stairs will be closed.

SCHOOL DISMISSAL / PICK UP

Please see map below for School Dismissal Instructions. Your child will bring home dashboard signs with their name and grade. Starting Tuesday, please place this sign on your dashboard so we can quickly call your child to the front of the school. Kindergarten students will wait in their play area and 1st graders will wait at the front of the school behind the marquee. 2nd – 6th graders will be on the blacktop. Thank you for your patience the first days. New routines take practice!
